Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Slickline Specialist to join our dynamic team in the Oakland, CA area. This demanding field-based role is critical for delivering essential well intervention services, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our clients’ oil and gas assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of slickline equipment, performing various downhole operations, and adhering strictly to safety protocols and operational procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Operate slickline units and associated equipment safely and efficiently on client well sites.
- Perform various slickline services, including but not limited to, setting and pulling plugs, running gauges, paraffin cutting, and valve manipulation.
- Conduct pre-job equipment checks, maintenance, and post-job demobilization.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Accurately complete all required documentation, including job reports, safety forms, and equipment logs.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor repairs in the field.
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and supervisors regarding job status and operational challenges.
- Participate in job planning and risk assessment activities.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Slickline Operator or Specialist.
- Proven knowledge of slickline tools, equipment, and downhole operations.
- Strong understanding of oil and gas wellsite safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to work effectively in challenging field environments and varying weather conditions.
- Excellent problem-solving and mechanical aptitude.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by operational demands.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant technical certifications or vocational training in oilfield services.
- Experience with various well control equipment and procedures.
- Previous experience working for a major oilfield service company.
- Knowledge of local wellsite regulations and best practices specific to California operations.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
