Job Description
Are you passionate about web development and eager to kickstart your career in e-commerce? TELUS is seeking a Junior Shopify Template Editor to join our innovative digital team. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals with foundational web development skills who are keen to learn and master Shopify’s Liquid templating language. You will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the visual and functional aspects of our Shopify-powered online stores, working closely with senior developers and designers to deliver seamless digital experiences. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, modification, and maintenance of Shopify themes and templates using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Implement design changes and new features as per specifications provided by designers and project managers.
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsiveness of web pages across various devices.
- Conduct thorough testing of template changes to ensure functionality, visual accuracy, and optimal performance.
- Debug and resolve front-end issues on Shopify stores.
- Collaborate with the e-commerce team to understand requirements and contribute to technical solutions.
- Document development processes, theme customizations, and code changes.
- Stay updated with Shopify's latest features, best practices, and industry trends.
Required Skills
- Foundational understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Basic knowledge of responsive design principles.
- Eagerness to learn Shopify's Liquid templating language.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous exposure to the Shopify platform or other e-commerce platforms.
